hey there people. i just got acid pro from a friend who never used it. i have sound forge cause i use it here and there to edit concerts that i record. i also have rebrith which someone gave me cause i thought it looked like a cool toy.
so i have all these programs, but i have no idea how to use them. i just played around with the rebirth and created some lame loops, but nothing i'm really pleased with. i'm a real drum and basshead, but i just can't figure out what i'm doin. i know the best thing to do is usually play around with programs to figure them out, but how did you guys learn the program? i don't dj at all or anything, i'm just a novice here. did you read a manual, or just play around?
so i'm looking for recomendations. i don't need someone to walk me through the whole thing step by step. i know no one wants to do that, but i'm just wonder what the best way is for me to learn acid pro. so, i'm open to all suggestions.
any and all info/critisizm is welcome and appreciated.

Wed, March 16, 2005 - 8:55 PMthanks for the links. i don't know how good they are for tutorial usage, but i'll deal with what i have. i guess i have to just push buttons and play around and see what i can come up with. i try to be sober when i do these things. that may help slightly.

Tue, March 22, 2005 - 1:14 AMI'd say go to acidplanet.com, grab some free 8 packs (8 to 10 loops arranged into a song for you to mangle), and start tweaking.
It's how I learned the program. It's really easy once you grasp the layout of it. -

Sun, March 27, 2005 - 8:44 PM...and remember, just play around....:) I wrote my first real song, just playing around with samples...you can delete what you don't like...just don't get discouraged...and you know what you like to listen to, so you know what sounds good...:)
