So, I record some beats, edit them down to a loop in Sound Forge, then drop them into Acid. Inevitably, the beat's off. So I go to the chopper and select it, get it looping real nice and chop to a new track... then 1 of 2 things happens... 1. It's off (usually long) or 2. It becomes a hair too long so that it can't be painted contiguously across the track(i.e. You paint and it stops, then you skip a little of the measure and paint another 1 pass.)
I am sure that I'm just missing something really obvious about how the program is structured, but... help!

Re: Making loops from recorded stuff... what am I missing?
Fri, April 6, 2007 - 7:28 AMif the beat is short enough, say one measure or so, you make the loop in acid or rather it will auto loop once you render it to a new track..hopefully a premaster .wav at 48,000/24 bit (even if you have a 16 bit sound card). make sure to stretch out the track to be looped all the way so you can see if it's got a tail on it that will click (you don't want that to happen) when it loops back..
If your beat is too long, chop it and make a couple of loops
